Inland Revenue’s logo appears with a sentence below it ‘Next year, subject to law change, the end of year tax process is changing. Here’s what it could mean for you.’

Audio:
Alvin is an avid supporter of Save the Pandas and regularly donates to them.

Visual:
A scene appears with a man sitting behind a desk at home. We see panda material scattered around his room. A glass jar with a panda appears on his desk as coins start to fall down into the jar.

Audio:
He also donates to his son’s school and daughter’s kindergarten on an annual basis. Every time he makes a donation to Save the Pandas he gets receipt.

Visual:
A jar appears on the right side of the desk with a school icon in it. Coins fall in to it.
Another jar appears with ABC blocks on it. Again, coins fall in the jar. A form slides down from the top of the screen, it has “receipt” on it.

Audio:
At the moment he collects all his donation receipts in an envelope and sends them to Inland Revenue in April.

Visual:
The receipt slides into an envelope which appears on screen. The envelope closes and slides across to the right where the Inland Revenue icon appears. This icon and the envelope fade away.

Audio:
From April 2019, he’ll no longer have to save up his receipts as he’ll be able to take a picture of them and upload them straight away into myIR.

Visual:
A smart phone slides up from the bottom. A digital receipt appears inside the phone screen. Yellow photo crop marks appear and the phone takes a picture of the receipt. The phone disappears and the receipt slides over into his computer.

Audio:
At the end of the tax year, Inland Revenue will review his receipts and calculate his refund. All Alvin has to do is make sure his contact details and bank account are up-to-date.

Visual:
A donation form slides down from above. A “$” pulses up on the form. The form fades away. A ‘Banks details’ form fades in. A tick appears next to a box titled “up to date”. This screen fades to teal.

The Inland Revenue logo appears on a teal screen with the “New Zealand Government” logo in a white band below. This fades out and the “Changing for you” logo appears.
