Inland Revenue’s logo appears with a sentence below it ‘Next year, subject to law change, the end of year tax process is changing. Here’s what it could mean for you.’

Audio:
Maura is busy studying to be a vet nurse, while working part–time in a pet store.

Visual:
A bedroom scene with a woman at a computer appears. This scene slides across and reveals a new scene where the same character is working in a pet store.

Audio:
Maura reduced her working hours from full-time to part-time, so she could study but still wanted to keep working to help support herself.

Visual:
A point of view shot appears, a calendar on a desk filled with work schedules every week day. Some of the allocated work days swap out for study days.

Audio:
Because Maura reduced her hours part way through the year, she is likely to be owed a tax refund at the end of the year.

Visual:
The pet shop scene returns and Maura is behind the desk as a cat’s tail passes across the bottom of the screen. A rotating star with “Tax Refund” appears on the screen.

Audio:
All Maura has to do is make sure the contact details and bank account details Inland Revenue have are up-to-date and they’ll do the rest.

Visual:
The cats tail speeds back across the screen as a dog chases it. A white form slides down from the top of the frame. A tick appears inside a box about details being up-to-date. Then form slides back up off the screen.

Audio:
At the end of the tax year, Maura receives an Income Tax Assessment, letting her know that she is due a tax refund. Shortly afterwards the money is in her bank account.

Visual:
Back now at the bedroom scene, Maura is still behind her desk. An Income Tax Assessment form drops down from top of the frame. A “$” symbol appears next to the “Refund Due” title. The form then slides back up and off the screen. A “$” symbol pulses up on screen. Maura waves here hands up and down.
